Tory benefit cuts face new attack in Lords
“Ruth Lister, the Labour peer and professor of social policy at Loughborough University who plans to speak in Tuesday’s debate, called this approach bizarre. “There is systematic academic evidence showing a very clear, causal link between income poverty and children’s life chances,” Lady Lister said.
She criticised the fact that the government would no longer be forced to report regularly to parliament on child poverty levels, just as the next round of spending cuts bites. “Children and families have lost out the most so far and they’re going to lose out again, and we’re not going to have a statutory way of showing that.”
To be honest and I say this without being biased. I prefer to to be educated also take a more statistical and truer picture of a casual link between income poverty and life chances from a professor of social policy. Than from uneducated IDS, George Osborne or the other elitist David Cameron.
I do believe a future will show their true nature and shameful evil policies for what they really are. The same as the current disclosure of Thatchers disgusting treatment of the Hillsborough families.
